Officers Flush Out Prisoners Who Used Toilet To Escape Christmas Day

UPDATE 6 PM MONDAY: The number of inmates still on the run after the Christmas morning escape from the Cocke County jail is down to two.

Six inmates in Tennessee escaped from jail Christmas Day after removing a leaky toilet from the wall.

"The inmates escaped after a water leak occurred behind a wall unit stainless steel toilet", the sheriff's office said in a statement reported by WVLT. One of the men was identified as David Frazier, who had been charged with aggravated robbery and is considered unsafe to the public. They were able to unscrew and remove its rusted bolts, exposing a hole big enough for them to wiggle through. Lewis was captured after he was involved in a foot chase with the police, approximately six miles from the jail. According to the Sheriff's office, two men were charged with allegedly assisting Speir. He was being held on charges of aggravated robbery and being a felon in unlawful possession of a weapon.
