MN Awards Clinton Votes: One Elector Refuses to Vote

While Democratic Nomineee Hillary Clinton won the popular vote in the State and Congressional District One, Maine split it's electoral votes in November. A ME elector voted for Senator Bernie Sanders instead of Hillary Clinton, while Minnesota elector was replaced.

"If my vote today could have helped Secretary Clinton win the presidency, I would have voted for her, Bright wrote in the post".

So far, the Democrats have managed to secure only a single faithless elector for certain, a Texas Republican who will not vote until later Monday afternoon.

Elector David Bright says he will be voting for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

ME has the only Republican elector in all of New England.

This means that for the first time in state history, Maine's four electoral voters will not be from the same political party.

Most states require the electors to vote the will of the people.

Rightsholders re-attending Court to have more sites blocked is likely to become a regular occurrence in 2017 and beyond. The same applies to dozens of affiliated and non-affiliated proxy and mirror sites.

Bright says he's voting for Sanders because he won Maine's Democratic caucus and deserves at least one of Maine's votes.

Around the country, the Electoral College is receiving more attention than at any time in recent history, due to the circumstances surrounding an election in which Clinton won the popular vote by 2.865 million and revelations since the election that both the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have determined Russian Federation was seeking to help Trump win. "I know you really wanted to see a vote for Bernie".

"The only thing I can do at this point is say, 'Look I know you're frustrated, I hear you, '" said Bright.

The state's electors are scheduled to vote for president at 2 p.m. ET on the floor of Maine's House of Representatives. He also elaborated that he's doing this because doing so would not change the overall outcome of the election. "But those lessons don't come easily for new voters. The only think I can do is give you one electoral vote for Bernie Sanders". "Most importantly, they did this to vote FOR someone they believed in, not to vote against someone they feared".

Democrats and progressive activists have been working night and day for the past several weeks to encourage "faithless electors" among the Republican coalitions.

"I am joining this national initiative because I am concerned for women, people of color, people that have disabilities and those that are immigrants of this nation", Leigh Horton said.
